Member Spotlight: Career Moves’ B-Corp journey
On Thursday, 27th March, HubHub member Career Moves hosted a breakfast session to share their journey towards B Corp certification. Members gathered for breakfast in our cinema area and food was provided by Farmer J, a newly opened restaurant by Farringdon Station. A big thank you to the Career Moves team and Rachel Eales for hosting such an insightful morning.
What initially inspired Career Moves Ltd to pursue B Corp certification?
Our journey toward B Corp certification was inspired by a deep-rooted belief that business can be a force for good. As a people-first recruitment agency, we’ve always been driven by purpose, not just profit. We recognized that aligning our values with a globally respected framework like B Corp would give us the accountability, structure, and community to take our commitment to people, planet, and purpose even further.
How has being a B Corp impacted your relationships with clients, partners, and talent pool?
Becoming a B Corp has strengthened our relationships in ways we couldn’t have fully anticipated. It’s opened doors to deeper, more values-aligned conversations with clients and partners who are equally committed to responsible, purpose-led business.
Clients increasingly want to work with organizations that walk the talk—and our B Corp status is a powerful signal of that. It’s created a shared language of trust, transparency, and accountability that goes beyond the transactional. In terms of talent, with 70% of candidates explicitly mentioning a company’s B Corp certification as a factor during the interview process, it has attracted a more passionate and engaged pool of talent.
Has becoming B Corp certified changed how you define success as a business?
Becoming B Corp certified has evolved how we define success, grounding it firmly in purpose, people, and long-term impact. Success for us isn’t just about financial growth, it’s about how we show up as a business that cares deeply about doing the right thing. It’s measured in how inclusive our hiring practices are, how we support our people’s wellbeing, and how we contribute to building a more equitable and sustainable future.
It’s no longer just about what we achieve as an agency—it’s about the positive, measurable impact we have on the lives and communities we touch along the way. That’s what success looks like to us now.
What advice would you give to other small-to-mid sized businesses considering the B Corp journey?
Our biggest piece of advice? Start where you are, and don’t be intimidated by the process.
It can feel overwhelming at first—but it’s one of the most rewarding things you can do. It challenges you to look under the hood of your business, get intentional about your impact, and build something truly sustainable from the inside out. Take it step by step. Focus on progress, not perfection. Most importantly, stay rooted in your why. If you’re already thinking about B Corp, you’re probably already doing great things. The certification simply gives you the structure, standards, and accountability to take that impact even further—and that’s where the magic happens.
